Most strategies fail.

The reason for this is the lack of strategic alignment.

For a strategy to be powerful, actionable and effective, there needs to be an alignment around what the strategy means, and why it’s important.

Here is what is required to achieve alignment:

  • Creating a clear connection between strategic objectives and departmental objectives.
  • Driving ideas from the bottom up rather then the top down.
  • Engaging the entire organization around execution of the strategy.

You might be wondering, why is strategic alignment so important?

Well, no alignment means the strategy is simply a paper weight.

Instead we need to get employees, suppliers and stakeholders excited and engaged in delivering on our strategy.
