Effective communications involves the process of presenting information to a listener with the intent of achieving a predetermined outcome, i.e. the listener acts, thinks or feels. To ensure communications have value requires consideration of the following two components:

1. Importance and relevance to the listener

2. Listener understanding and comprehension of your message

Measure the effectiveness of your communications by assessing the “importance” and the “understanding” of the listener.
